Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy worked with Central Research Institute Of Epidemiology – Moscow, Russia (November 30, 2018)
On November 30, 2018, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) welcomed Central Research Institute of Epidemiology (CRIE), Moscow, Russia at the meeting room of Public Health Faculty.
The representatives of CRIE, Moscow, Russia were Dr. Vladimir Chulanov, PhD, MD, DSc, Head of Research
Centre of Viral Hepatitis and Mr. Nikolay
Pimenov at the same centre.
Representatives of CTUMP included Assoc.Prof. Pham Thi Tam, MD, Head of Public
Health Faculty; Nguyen Ngoc Huyen, MSc, MD, Assistant of Scientific Research and International
Cooperation, Public Health Faculty; Tran Nguyen Du, MSc, lecturer of Epidemiology, Public Health Faculty; Dr. Do Hoang Long, MD., Deputy
Head of Pathophysiology and Immunology Department; Dr, Duong Thi Loan, lecture of Pathophysiology and Immunology Department; and Ms. Nguyen Hoang Yen, MSc, Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy Department.
CRIE is a country's major developer of
theoretical bases and concepts in the area of epidemiology, socio-economic
significance of communicable diseases, pathogenesis, diagnosis, therapy and
prevention of communicable diseases. In 2007, Dr. Chulanov was appointed Head of
the Clinical Diagnostics and Research Center, a position he still holds. In
2008, Dr. Chulanov became Head of the Research Center for Viral Hepatitis,
where he oversees an extensive research portfolio [1].
The meeting was an opportunity to exchange knowledge
in research between CTUMP and CRIE such as preventing and diagnosing viral
hepatitis. After the meeting, delegates of CRIE were given a tour of the
laboratory in Pathophysiology and Immunology Department.
