THE TWELFTH NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF PHYSIOLOGY (December 1, 2018)

On December 1, 2018, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy was honored to coordinate with the Vietnam Association of Physiology to host The Twelfth National Conference of Physiology with the participation of more than 300 delegates who are lecturers, scientists, doctors, pharmacists, researchers, etc. currently working at over 40 national and international universities, institutes, hospitals, and research centers such as Hanoi Medical University, Ho Chi Minh University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Malaya University (Malaysia), University of Massachusetts (America), Inje University (Korea), etc.


Speaking at the opening, Assoc.Prof. Le Dinh Tung, Vice-chairman of Vietnam Association of Physiology, said the organizers received a large number of reports with many informative topics. It created opportunities for participants to share knowledge, discuss physiological issues as well as functional research, a combination of basic and clinical medicine. This was a chance for experts and managers not only to discuss the scientific theme but also to discuss how to improve educational programs.

The content of reports extends from basic science to clinical applications related to physiology, including molecular biology, physiology in neurology, endocrinology, digestion, heart, respiratory, sport, traditional medicine, etc. Some featured research studies are bringing a promising perspective in physiology in particular and medicine in general. It will be the foundation for the development and building new directions for physiology of Vietnam in the future.

On the sidelines of the event, delegates from the other places of Vietnam and other countries were warmly welcomed, experienced some specialties of Vietnamese culture in Mekong Delta, had opportunities to visit Cai Rang Floating Market – national intangible cultural heritage, one of the symbolic places of Viet Nam river region, went through many provinces on the way to Mui Ca Mau - the southernmost point of Vietnam. During the conference, the delegates also enjoyed Southern folk cakes with purely traditional flavors which were prepared well and served by Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
